American Gaming Association, European Casino Association, and Betting & Gaming Council Commit to Address Key Issues Facing iGaming
The American Gaming Association (AGA), European Casino Association (ECA), and the Betting & Gaming Council recently announced a signed memorandum of understanding to collaborate on sharing values and priorities across the gaming industry.
The memorandum formalizes the three organizations’ commitment to address major issues within the global iGaming industry, including responsible gaming, security, illegal gambling, and innovation.
Working Together for iGaming Greatness
The memorandum will create a platform for the groups to create joint research projects and bring the staff and members of each organization together to share ideas and expertise. Bill Miller, the President and CEO of the AGA, commented that the new partnership is a significant step towards a collective effort to advance the legal gaming industry and protect consumers.
By sharing resources, the groups can expand the fight against illegal gaming on new fronts and work together to strengthen responsible gaming efforts, best practices, and innovation in the iGaming industry.
With dialogue and cooperation across the organizations, Miller feels that a proactive approach will be taken to safeguard the integrity of the legal gaming industry and ensure continued growth and success.
BGC and ECA are on Board
The European Casino Association and the Betting & Gaming Council are also on board in working together to create quality iGaming services across the globe. Chairman of the ECA, Erwin van Lambaart, stated that the organization is united with the AGA and BGC in a commitment to address key issues that all industry stakeholders face.
Grainne Hurst, the CEO of the BGC, commented as well, stating that the new partnership marks a new chapter in the shared vision of building a sustainable, trusted, and world-class industry. BGC members are proud of their global leader reputation and understand the power of collaboration.
Working with the AGA and ECA, Hurst is confident that the shared expertise and knowledge will help create safer gambling standards while working on the threat of the growing black market gambling sector in the UK.
Collaboration Begins in 2025
The first collaboration of the three groups will include a roundtable focused on illegal gambling. This roundtable will take place in January of next year and bring industry leaders together with regulators and law enforcement to discuss how illegal operations are impacting the legal industry, player safety, and global finances.
Strategies will be discussed on actionable solutions to combat illegal gaming and on enhancing cross-jurisdictional communication regarding illegal gambling matters.
