Seeking to Recoup Losses

Kennedy would like to recoup the losses she incurred playing at company-owned sites. VGW Holdings Limited is accused of operating Chumba Casino, Global Poker, and LuckyLand Slots illegally in Georgia by breaking gambling laws.

The filing states that Kennedy lost $1,150 playing casino games of chance promoted and offered by VGW brands. The filing aims to represent a class of consumers in the state who suffered losses via online gaming sites during an applicable limitations period.

Misrepresentation as “Just for Fun Gameplay”

The lawsuit claims that VGW tells residents of Georgia that the sites are “just for fun gameplay” when they are actually online gambling casinos where citizens can wager and lose real money. The class action states that VGW is proactively defrauding citizens of Georgia as it advertises its operations as legitimate and legal when they are actually operating an illegal gambling enterprise.

Based on the lawsuit’s claims, VGW reportedly violates Georgia Code 13-8-3. Kennedy wants the case to go to a jury trial and seeks monetary relief for herself and other plaintiffs.
