Violating Laws and Hazardous to Customers
Henry Williams, the MGCB Executive Director, stated that the unlicensed service providers are violating state laws and pose a threat to consumers. They do not include reliable withdrawal methods and are not contributing financially to the state.
The following operators have 14 days to stop offering services or face legal action:
- BetAnySports
- CoolCat Casino
- Diamond Sportsbook International
- Solar Game LT and Buson Trade Office
- My Dreams Casino
- NonStop Casino
- Palace of Chance
- Xbet Casino
- WagerWeb
If the gaming sites do not comply with the order, the MGCB will work with the state Attorney General’s office to pursue legal action, which may result in felony charges.
Committed to a Legal iGaming Framework
This is the second round of cease-and-desist letters the MGCB has sent out in the past few months. The Board is focused on the security of the state’s iGaming industry. The goal is to ensure that only licensed operators offer services in the state, protecting players.
The last round of letters prevented platforms like Bovada and MyBookie from offering iGaming operations in the state. Any operator that provides gambling entertainment must be licensed and adhere to strict regulatory requirements.
The laws promote a transparent industry with consumer protections in place and fair play. The legal frameworks also ensure that some revenues are used to meet state needs.
