Da Vinci Diamonds brings a touch of elegance to online slots, with its Renaissance theme and a clean layout. The game’s bonus features add some excitement to an otherwise simple game.

The game has 5 reels, 3 rows, and 20 paylines that pay out from left to right. The paylines are indicated by the colorful round jewels to the left and right sides of the game.

I like that the game’s background is kept to a simple black color, because the artwork is the main visual feature in this game. Da Vinci’s masterpieces are the high-value game symbols, and include the Mona Lisa, Lady With An Ermine, and other recognizable pictures. Part of the fun for me was trying to recognize the artworks when they popped up, and I was glad to see that the fine graphic detail on screen displays the images quite well.

Game information is kept simple in Da Vinci Diamonds; you’ll find almost everything you need along the bottom of the screen. This is where you can set your bet amounts, press the spin button, and see your total wins and balances. Paytable and game rules can be found in the upper-right corner.

I enjoyed the Renaissance-style melody that plays when the game begins, but otherwise most of the other sound effects feel a bit outdated. The ringing bells and whooshing symbols probably work well for Da Vinci Diamonds as a physical slot-machine game in a loud casino, but could be much more subtle for players playing on mobile devices.

While there are plenty of newer and fancier slots on the market, I don’t hold Da Vinci Diamonds’ age as a strike against it. In fact, the simplicity works in its favour, allowing players to focus on gameplay and enjoy the great works of art.

Wild Symbol

In this game, the Wild Symbol looks like a sparkly pink jewel. It stands out quite a bit from the other gem symbols in the game with its fancy design. The Wild will appear in reels 2, 3, and 4 during regular play, and can substitute for any symbol except the Scatter Symbol to complete a winning payline.

Scatter Symbols

The bejeweled Bonus icon acts as the Scatter Symbol during regular play. Landing three Scatter symbols anywhere on the screen will launch the Free Spins Bonus Round.

The Scatter Symbol works during the Bonus Round too, awarding extra free spins when you land three or more in this round. Check the paytable for exact numbers about how many free spins you can win.

Free Spins Bonus Round

The Free Spins round starts off with six free spins. During this round, you can win extra free spins each time you land three or more Bonus symbols. Up to 300 free spins can be awarded in total, although I wasn’t so lucky. I played the Bonus Round twice and only got the initial six free spins both times.

Tumbling Reels

When you land a winning payline, the symbols disappear allowing new symbols to drop into their place. Unlike some other games with tumbling reels, Da Vinci Diamonds doesn’t
